From 29th October – 2nd November, our team and Members embarked on a spectacular FAM trip with Riverside Luxury Cruises, exploring the Netherlands and Germany in style aboard their premier vessel, The Debussy. Over five unforgettable days, we experienced breathtaking scenery, historic cities, and exquisite cuisine.
Day 1 – Arrival, Suites & Setting Sail
After meeting in Amsterdam, we were transferred to Nijmegen to board the beautiful Debussy. Once on board, we settled into our stunning Seahorse Suites, each complete with a private butler and immaculate attention to detail.
The evening began with welcome drinks in Palm Court, followed by a delicious dinner in the Waterside Restaurant, where the whole group gathered together for the first time. As we dined, Debussy set sail towards Amsterdam – the perfect start to our journey.
Day 2 – Amsterdam’s Canals & Culture
We awoke to the charm of Amsterdam, starting the day with a generous breakfast buffet before heading out on a scenic canal cruise and a visit to the iconic Rijksmuseum. Some of the group opted for a leisurely two-hour walk through the city, soaking up its architecture and atmosphere.
Back on board, we enjoyed a ship tour and an insightful presentation, followed by drinks in Palm Court and another incredible 6-course dinner. Debussy sailed onwards toward Cologne as the evening drew in.
Day 3 – Cologne, Chocolate & Kölsch
The morning sail along the Rhine was breathtaking, leading us into Cologne for a guided city tour. We explored the magnificent Cologne Cathedral, enjoyed artisanal chocolate at a local café, and wandered the historic streets.
The evening brought a lively Kölsch beer tasting across three traditional pubs — a fun, authentic experience that had everyone smiling.
Debussy continued to Koblenz overnight.
Day 4 – Koblenz, Castles & Tapas in Lahstein
We started the day with a guided walk through Koblenz, where the Rhine and Moselle rivers meet. After lunch on board, we enjoyed a scenic afternoon sail past countless hilltop castles on the way to Lahstein — a true highlight of the trip.
Dinner that night was a shared tapas-style feast at Atelier Restaurant, filled with laughter, stories, and fantastic food.
Day 5 – Cochem & Farewell Wine Adventures
Our final full day delivered one of the most memorable experiences: a vintage VW camper van wine tour through the vineyards around Bernkastel. Three wine stops, panoramic views, and a wonderfully bumpy journey made for an unforgettable afternoon.
We wrapped up the trip with a farewell dinner at Waterside – bittersweet goodbyes, warm hugs, and new friendships formed along the way.
A Trip to Remember
