Visiting our Members in Scotland

Edinburgh

Suzanne from our Membership Team embarked on a Scottish road trip to visit some of our Members north of the border. Here are just some of the highlights:

Galloway Travel, Stranraer

I met with Sandy the business owner and Stacey who manages the agency, the building is bright and decorated well with our marketing posters and brochures, they have recently moved here from a nearby smaller premises and the foot flow is better. Stacey was also due to come to conference from Manchester and was disappointed not to meet everyone there.

Stacey is ex Thomas Cook and used to work in the agency around the corner. Their customers are loyal and repeat and the majority moved over with Stacey when they opened in 2019.

Sunseekers Travel, Carluke

I spent time with Gail in the bright office on the high street in Carluke, Gail has recently decorated the interior of the office she rents. Carluke is approximately halfway between Edinburgh and Glasgow. Gail has had her membership for 25 years and believes she is likely to be one of the longest serving Global members. She works with Angela who typically works 4 days a week and covers holidays. Before the internet changed the landscape of travel, Gail used to have 5 employees.

Gail will always be driven by what is best for the client and they have great, loyal customers.

The Bookings Bureau – South Queensferry

I met with Macy and Malcom in a coffee shop in South Queensferry as they have a home office. They were pleased to meet with me, after our last catch up at the Manchester Business Partner forum, Macy and Malcom are English and moved to Scotland with Malcom’s job in 2004, Macy then started up with Global. Macy and Malcom own a villa in Florida which is where their idea selling Florida holidays began.

Macy does receive enquires through Facebook and messenger for new enquiries and receives many referrals.

iTravel4u – Edinburgh

I met with Faisal in his busy office on the high street of central Edinburgh. Faisal works with two other colleagues, and they have a real mix of clients from all over the world and with a variety of nationalities, so can speak other languages to support them.

Faisal is now thinking of expanding to a bigger office across the road, which he hopes will open up new opportunities.

Border Global Travel, Jedburgh

I met with Kath, Tracey and Mary in their beautiful office on the high street on beautiful Jedburgh in the Scottish borders. Kath kindly took the time out of her day off to come and meet with me. The team have many, many years of travel experience between them.

It was great to hear that they felt supported by the team at The Travel Network Group.
